Diary Of A Writer: Voke Ogedegbe, I Can't Let Life Say To Me "I won!"

I've seen life beat people. Often times mercilessly.  I've seen those who surrendered at life's first blow,   I've also seen those whom after several punches still  managed to win life at its own game and have gone  on living everyday victoriously.   Everyone has a limit. Everyone has a breaking point.  Life is so powerful that most times even the strongest amongst us  are tempted to give up...  I'm not so strong,   but I can't give life the gratification it so yearns for; I can't let life say to me "I won!".  Even if I fail at everything,   I would hold on to the tiniest bit of hope and fight another day  because I know Daily how life exhausts us with its punches  but the beauty of it all is in not giving up! MY DIARY: WITHIN YOU I’VE FOUND THE PERFECT FRIEND

To Whom It May Concern Within you, I've found the perfect friend Someone who I know will be there till the end And they're not just thoughts I hope will fulfil But thoughts that will stand forever still Still as the wind on a hot summer's day Still as your friendship I'll never betray Still as the characters in a photograph Still as your breathless, silent laugh Within you, I've found the perfect friendA mind that I can comprehend A person I see is so much like me A mutual relationship so carefree

The Unqualified Chosen

* People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered; forgive them anyway * If you are kind, people may accuse you of being selfish, and having ulterior motives; be kind anyway * If you are successful, you will find some false friends, and some true enemies; succeed anyway. * If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be frank anyway. * What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway.. * If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway.. * Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world the best you have anyway. You will find out that in the final analyses it is between you and God; it was never between you and them.... #CianaJoyInspires

SIX THINGS THE LORD HATES, SEVEN ARE DETESTABLE TO HIM

It’s really been long I took up my pen, engage in serious mind exercise and jot down the end result. So many things have been calling for my attention these past few weeks that I didn’t realise that it had been a while I posted something. Anyways, to cut the story short, here I am again as I couldn’t help but share the insights I received while reading my bible some days ago.   “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community”( Proverbs 6:16-19, NIV) I read this scripture and I had to re-read again because it was as if I’ve never come across this portion of the bible before. I was amazed that despite the fact that God loves us and He is ever ready to forgive our sins if we ask for forgiveness, there are some habits that He so m...

ANGRY LETTER TO THE NIGERIAN YOUTH: PLEASE MARRY A LAZY WOMAN BY BAYO ADEYINKA

Angry Letter To The Nigerian Youth: Please Marry A Lazy Woman By Bayo Adeyinka Dear Nigerian Youth, Twice this week, God spoke to you but you were deaf. You missed the message totally. Not only did you miss the message, you put up the twin messengers on the cross and you are dealing them with the worst kind of blows. In your follow-the-herd mentality that has afflicted your generation, you have only succeeded in demonstrating your crass ignorance and the reason why you may never be taken seriously. Coincidentally, both messengers are old men but you mock them. You may have new clothes even more than the aged but you can never have rags like them. Their ragged experience is by far better than your new age wisdom. The first messenger brought a series of messages. He gave some pieces of advice to a generation that is wise in its own sight. A harmless advice has now been turned over its head. How come this generation always end up making simple things complex? How come this gen...
