SHORT INSPIRING STORY: HOLE IN THE FENCE

A little boy grew up with his father and mother in the village. He was the only son. He makes the parents feel depressed due to his bad temper which he never accepted he had. The little boy used to get angry unnecessarily and taunt others with his words. His bad temper made him speak unruly words to people whether children or adult even without having any remorse. These traits invited all worries for his parents as reports of his bad manners keep coming to them. While he forgot what he spoke in anger, his friends and neighbours avoided him. On several occasions his parents had consoled him in many ways to give up his anger and develop kindness to people but it had fell on deaf ears.  However, one day his father came up with an idea, he gave him a huge bag of nails. He asked his son to hammer one nail to the fence every time he became angry and to lose his temper. The boy seeing his bad attitude to people was really becoming a concern, accepted...

THE PAINS AND GAINS OF BEING A WOMAN

Oh please don’t tell me I’m wrong about this. Don’t tell me being a woman only has advantages and no disadvantages. I hope you are not forgetting the fact that I’m also a woman. So I am in a very good position to talk about these issues. First and foremost, I’m going to talk about the disadvantages of being a woman after which I’ll then talk about the wonderful and divine advantages of being a woman. But despite the pains of being a woman, the benefits surpass the pains far better. A woman is a divine creature and who can survive this world without her? The Pains Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed. If I fail, no one will say, “She doesn’t have what it takes.” They will say, “Women don’t have what it takes. People don’t want to see women doing things they don’t think women should do. Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good.   But luckily for us, this is not difficult.   Men are allowed to have passion a...

Inspirational: One Day

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle.   It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.' I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.   As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.’ They really should get lives. 'He looked at me and said, 'Hey th...

THE KIND OF A HOME I CRAVE FOR

I was in my bedroom one day and so many thoughts ran through my mind but the most prevailing one was the thought on ‘How I want my future home to look like’. I begin to draw and fantasize about a picture in my mind. I want a lovely home. I want a good home. I want a fruitful and growing home. I want a home where my spouse together with our kids is free to talk to each other without any intimidation. I want a home where our kids will prefer to be than any other place. I want a home where there are no secrets. I long for a home where Love, Commitments, Faithfulness, Godliness, Fruitfulness and Trusts abound, a home free of hatred and regrets, a home where I am free to pour out all my thought and worries to my spouse. I longed for the kind of home where Peace, Joy, Love, Happiness, is the order of the day. Where my children trust us enough and can approach us to confide in us, seek for our advice and share their worries with us.
