SMILING/HAPPINESS CHALLENGE: DAY 6 (WEDNESDAY)

Good afternoon friends, how is your day going? How was yesterday’s task? Were you grateful after counting your blessings? I hope so because I was exceptionally grateful after counting mine. I just discovered that most of us are so busy complaining that we really do not know the privilege and grace we have that others don’t have.
Well today is April 6th and a friend of mine is celebrating his birthday today. So let me quickly wish him a super happy birthday.

Happy birthday to you ‘ADENUGA MIKENUGA’. On this special occasion of yours, I wish you a wonderful year ahead and success in all your endeavours..Have fun dear..Hip Hip Hip Hurrayyyy...Please don’t forget to send my own portion of the cake oo...#winks#

So many of us have completely fallen into particular daily routines that we tend to forget what really matters. Had a thought recently about how lucky some of my friends were for the kind of peaceful, united and loving home they grew up from (Never really had the luxury of such a home). We ignore people who care about us (although unconsciously) and take favors for granted. We really cannot comprehend the kind of things our parents go through to give us a good life and make sure we don’t lack the essentials.
We are rude to them sometimes and we sometimes make them feel like they are less of who they are. Some of us go as far as taking our friends over them (Yes, it’s that bad).  Can we take a moment and reflect on this? Be grateful to God for giving us the blessing of having parents who care about us (both Dead and Alive!). Some of us have lost one or both parents but we can never forget the indelible mark they left in our lives. Can we endeavour to be more subtle and kind in our dealings with them? Do the little things. Buy things for them randomly. e.t.c. No matter how wealthy our parents are, whatever we buy for them would be among their most cherished possessions. How often do we pray for them? How many times have we dedicated just a time in our heads to seek God’s blessings for them?  These questions require answers!

Now to the task for today,
               Call your parents/Guardians
Tell them :”Thank you for everything”
                Pray for them
               Tell them you love them
               Give us a feedback!

Inspirational: One Day

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle.   It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.' I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.   As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.’ They really should get lives. 'He looked at me and said, 'Hey th...

INSPIRING STORY: LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR TEMPER

Once upon a time there was a little boy who was talented, creative, handsome, and extremely bright. A natural leader. The kind of person everyone would normally have wanted on their team or project. But he was also self-centered and had a very bad temper. When he got angry, he usually said, and often did, some very hurtful things. In fact, he seemed to have little regard for those around him, even friends. So, naturally, he had few. “But,” he told himself, “That just shows how stupid most people are!”  As he grew, his parents became concerned about this personality flaw, and pondered long and hard about what they should do. Finally, the father had an idea. And he struck a bargain with his son. He gave him a bag of nails, and a BIG hammer. “Whenever you lose your temper,” he told the boy, “I want you to really let it out. Just take a nail and drive it into the oak boards of that old fence out back. Hit that nail as hard as you can!” Of course, those weathered oak boards in th...
