SMILING/HAPPINESS CHALLENGE: DAY 5 (TUESDAY)

How did the challenge go yesterday? Did you say those encouraging words to someone? I’m feeling really guilty now because I couldn’t get to tell anybody as I got so busy after posting it and I got home really late. God forgive me. But I’m assuming you all said it to people and I can imagine how happy they must have felt. What about alms giving, Did you? I pray we all get rewarded abundantly.

I understand that some of us are going through many situations that are not very pleasant and we sometimes see no need for being thankful. It cannot always be smooth for us. Allow me to take some reference from the Holy bible.

‘Who fed you in the wilderness with Manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you , to do you good in the end’ (Deuteronomy 8:16).
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience” (James 1:2-3)

The above extracts serve as encouragement to us so we’d know we should stay thankful through Tribulations. What matters is not the tribulations but our attitude towards these tribulations.
Today, we are going to indulge in another self help. Not exactly a selfless act this time but it still would be about us. When was the last time you genuinely appreciated God? (No offence to the free thinkers here). I mean, take a few minutes to appreciate him for his blessings on your life and that of your family especially for the grace he has given you to see this new month.

The task…
Take a minute to reflect on God’s blessings in your life. (Count your blessings; name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done)
Say: ‘Thank you Lord for everything You have done, You are doing and You will still do’
Smile, because God got you!

SMILING/HAPPINESS CHALLENGE DAY 29 (FRIDAY)

Wow! Wow! Wow! Today is the last day of the challenge. It’s been God (All Praises and Adoration to Him?) and you guys all through. You never know how far you can go until you start. It’s the last day of the challenge already and I must confess it’s been a worthwhile one. I love how we have connected over the days, I love how we discovered more about ourselves, I love how we looked forward to each day knowing a challenge was coming up and we were capable of achieving it, it has been beautiful! Kudos to you guys. Though my expectations of you guys participating on the blog wasn’t met, I really do appreciate you for being an ardent reader throughout. Today, we are going to pick at least two of those challenges and stick to them. Of course, we can pick more and that would even be way nicer. Just make sure you have at least two challenges and make them routine. I want us to view this challenge in a deeper way. View it as you putting your mind to achieving a goal and looking for...

You've always had the flair for writing,  for literature,  for books,  for arts.  You are a very brilliant person so naturally you can survive in any class you find yourself - arts,  social sciences or pure sciences. Your parents have always being proud of you cause you've always blazed the trail.  What parents wouldn't be proud??? In primary school,  you were the best student and that saw you going for every competition and winning medals upon medals. When it was time for the "standard living" play,  the doctor spot was reserved for you. "Doctors are the smartest people in the world so you are the most suitable for the spot" your teacher had told your mom. Senior secondary school saw you sashaying effortlessly into the pure science classes,  you are a natural, just like Einstein.  you made A's with so much swags and ease.  Again your teachers,  parents, family members,  friends and village people said you can't waste y...

2016 Review: Ikpefua Joy, My Year Review

2016 Review: Ikpefua Joy, My Year Review Hmmm...Don't even know where and how to start from. 2016 has been quite a year. 2016 to me has been one of those years I enjoyed unmerited favour and grace. God has been faithful despite my unfaithfulness. Yea, I was written off...I have been trodden upon and yes, I've been told to my face that I cannot attain the heights I'm striving so hard to attain because I don't have what it takes...and sometimes I'd believed that. Obvious challenges has stared at my face that threatened my resolutions and determinations but it is amazing that amidst it, God has always proved His Supremacy and rulership over my life. 2016 has taught me a lot. So many lessons that miraculously turned to blessings. I've met people who have impacted and invested in my life more than I could have ever done. And seriously, Allyreads has been a tangible blessing to me. Belonging to this family, is a treasure that I hold so dear...love them all.. Who ...
