How did the challenge go yesterday? Did you say those encouraging words
to someone? I’m feeling really guilty now because I couldn’t get to tell
anybody as I got so busy after posting it and I got home really late. God
forgive me. But I’m assuming you all said it to people and I can imagine
how happy they must have felt. What about alms giving, Did you? I pray we all get
rewarded abundantly.
I understand that some of us are going through many situations that are
not very pleasant and we sometimes see no need for being thankful. It cannot
always be smooth for us. Allow me to take some reference from the Holy bible.
‘Who fed you in the wilderness with Manna, which your fathers did not
know, that He might humble you and that He might test you , to do you good in
the end’ (Deuteronomy 8:16).
“My brethren, count it all joy
when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith
produces patience” (James 1:2-3)
The above extracts serve as encouragement to us so we’d know we should
stay thankful through Tribulations. What matters is not the tribulations but
our attitude towards these tribulations.
Today, we are going to indulge in another self help. Not exactly a
selfless act this time but it still would be about us. When was the last time
you genuinely appreciated God? (No offence to the free thinkers here). I
mean, take a few minutes to appreciate him for his blessings on your life and
that of your family especially for the grace he has given you to see this new
month.
The task…
Take a minute to reflect on God’s blessings in your life. (Count your blessings;
name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done)
Say: ‘Thank you Lord for everything You have done, You are doing and You
will still do’
Smile, because God got you!
